Message :The VG was just a better choice given Nissan's objectives. The VG family had been tested extensively with it's use in the Z31 starting in '84. After seeing the engine bay of a Cedric, I'm glad Nissan used the VG30DETT. Its dimensions allowed Nissan to design a nose that could retain the great body lines of the Z32.

The development of the VQ started in 1992... and came out in 93 in Japan in the Cefiro, and 94 in the US in the Maxima...
